Speaker Bio
Mary Damianakis is a former president of Family Mediation Canada, an FMC accredited Comprehensive Family Mediator, accomplished international trainer, and supervisor. She began her career in mediation in the mid-1980s and has worked with numerous high-profile cases involving children being illegally detained outside of Canada.
International custody disputes intersect with relocation issues, renunciation, violence, trauma children, and including the use of technology. Mary helped start FMC’s International Family Section, which she hopes will continue to grow. The use of technology is important with international cases and best practices must be applied in online mediation work. The theme of caring for children continues to be a constant in the evolution of Mary’s work. With this desire at the core, she hopes to continue to meet the growing and complex needs of family conflicts.
